I took my contents page pictures against a pink textured wall, Emily is wearing Outfit 2 for my contents page pictures.

Front Cover Pictures- Top 5

I like this picture as it is different to a typical stood up straight picture, if I chose this picture I feel I would be able to stretch the background and would be able to follow my plan of putting the article titles to the side of the picture.

 If  I used this picture I would firstly have to edit out the door using Photoshop and manipulate the background. This picture isn't my favourite due to the facial expression as during my magazine research the pictures on the cover of the pop magazines I looked at had models who were smiling.

 I like this picture but Emily is facing to the side, although this picture looks more like the cover of a fashion magazine as I looked at a few during my research, I want to focus on the conventions of a pop magazine the pictures on the cover of the pop magazines I looked at during my research had front facing pictures.

 I like this picture as the position is similar to the fashion magazines I looked at during my research but I want to use a more casual pose like the ones I saw during my research of pop magazines.

I like this picture due to the pose but I prefer the pictures due to editing possibilities.

Front Cover Pictures

I have taken my pictures for my front cover. The pictures are against a white wall, Emily is the model in my pictures, she is wearing outfit 3 (information regarding my choice of outfits can be found on my Model Outfit, Hair and Makeup post)

Photoshoot Evaluation

I feel that my photoshoot went well and that I know have a variety of pictures that I can use for my magazine. I have managed to take pictures in different positions, in different outfit against different backgrounds that I will be able to use in different sections of my magazine. I was able to use good lighting and a good camera so that I was able to produce high quality pictures.
Each part of my magazine e.g. front cover, contents page and double page spread will have a different outfit against a different style/colour background to show a difference of and variety of pictures.
If I was to redo my pictures I would experiment more with hair and makeup styles to show a clear difference of picture within each section of my magazine, I may also change backgrounds to outdoor locations although I choose the varied texture and colour walls as my background to show the fashion house style of my magazine as the pictures in the fashion magazines I looked at during my research were against wall background which is why I therefore chose to do the same.
I will shortly upload the pictures I took for each section of the magazine and will then upload the best from each section.

Shooting Schedule

I am planning to take all of my pictures in one day, I am going to take my pictures in a friends house against different colour and patterned walls. I am going to use a different outfit against a different background for the pictures on each page of the magazine.

I asked my friend Emily to be in my pictures and asked her if I could take the pictures at her house:

 

Emily has agreed to be in my pictures and has given me permission to take them at her house.

Double Page Spread Hand Drawn Designs

Double Page Spread:

This is my plan for my double page spread, I am going to use black and white pictures with a grey textured background to balance out my magazine as I am planning to use bright colours including white backgrounds, pink and purple text and colourful pictures for the front cover and contents page.

I am going to use two black and white pictures for my double page spread at each end of the page, I am planning on bringing the pictures together by editing them to blend the grey textured background together that I am planning to use for both pictures.
The title of the article will be to the left of the first picture going onto the second page, the article is going to be laid out into two columns, the first on the left page next to the image under the title and the second on the right page from top to bottom next to the picture on the right side of the page.
The page number will be at the bottom of both pages.

I am going to use white font with bits in pink and purple as I think this will look best against the grey/black background, I am using these colours to continue the colour scheme throughout my magazine.

Contents Page:

 

 

This is my plan for my Contents Page, I am going to use a white/beige background with pink, purple and black coloured texts, to continue the theme of a pop magazine by using the colours associated with Pop.

 

The Contents Page title is going to be on the top right of the page above the list of articles.

I am going to include a picture of the front cover of the magazine as I have seen this in previous magazines I have looked at.

I am using a medium long shot of outfit 2 (this can be found on my Model Outfit, Hair and Makeup post) on the left side of the page next to the list of articles in the page.

The right side of the page is where I am going to have a list of the articles featured in the issue of the magazine. This will be split into two categories of Featured articles in the magazine and Regular articles found in the magazine. The article page numbers are going to be to the right of the article title to inform the reader of where in the magazine the article can be found. The numbers will be in a random order as most if not all magazine contents page numbers do not go up in ascending order.
